Alvin H. Butz, Inc. Completes Renovations to Easton Hospital

Allentown, PA, June 6, 2014 . . . Alvin H. Butz, Inc., part of The Butz Family of Companies, recently completed renovations to Easton Hospital's Emergency Department in Easton, PA. The renovations provided both aesthetic and practical upgrades for doctors, nurses and patients.

Totaling close to $1,200,000, the 16,000 square feet worth of renovations included upgrades to the floors, ceilings, walls and lighting. New sprinklers were also installed to roughly 2/3 of the department.

"Butz was not only able to complete the original project faster than anticipated, but also use savings realized from that project to provide additional work for us," said Terri Martis, Director, Facilities Management at Easton Hospital.

In order to achieve efficient scheduling, Butz' team broke the project up into four phases, which included the following

  • Phase 1 - Patient Services
  • Phase 2 - Nurses Stations
  • Phase 3 - E.D. Fast Track
  • Phase 4 - Patient Rooms
Working in an occupied E.D., the project team focused heavily on safety. ICRA and HIPAA standards were maintained throughout all phases of the project, and all workers were required to abide by a strict set of safety protocols.

Along with the E.D., minor renovations were made to other parts of the hospital, including:
  • Dialysis upgrade
  • Room Air Pressure Monitors
  • Fireproofing
"Butz and the rest of The Butz Family of Companies pride ourselves on devoting our resources to projects that leave a lasting, positive impact on the community," said Greg L. Butz, President and CEO of Alvin H. Butz, Inc. "We are confident that these renovations will improve the quality of healthcare that Easton Hospital can deliver to its patients."
