Allentown, PA, July 18, 2014 . . . Alvin H. Butz, Inc., a Butz Family Company, recently broke ground on a new Bistro and Healthcare Delivery Kitchen for Moravian Village. The bistro and kitchen are part of a larger project which includes a new performing arts center.

The bistro, which has yet to be named, is designed to accommodate approximately 50 people, including ADA and wheelchair occupants.

"This is an important step forward in the life of the Moravian Village of Bethlehem," said Dave Roth, Executive Director at Moravian Village. "The new commercial kitchen will allow us to better serve our highly acclaimed rehab care/wound center/cardiac wing and other areas of our health center. The bistro will provide a new and interesting dining experience for our independent living residents."

The new venue will offer a non-formal dining atmosphere and will be available to all Moravian Village residents and their guests. Once the performing arts center is completed, the venue will also be used as the receiving area for various events.

The kitchen is designed to serve the healthcare center residents, whether they are in their rooms or in the dining rooms. The service-style meal delivery will serve:

  • Personal Care residents
  • Apartment residents
  • Cottage residents
"Our firm is eager to begin a new business relationship with Moravian Village and is confident that our team of experienced professionals will successfully deliver a bistro and kitchen that is to the complete satisfaction of Dave and the rest of the Moravian Village staff and residents," said Greg L. Butz, President and CEO of Alvin H. Butz, Inc.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Tuesday, July 15. Construction is expected to begin in early August of this year.

"I am so proud of our team who continues to work diligently on this project and of course our construction partners. I can't thank everyone enough," said Roth.
